In response to what they see as a sluggish process of Interim Replacement (PAW), the campaign team of Denisa Wulandari—currently serving as a member of the Purwakarta Regency DPRD—is preparing to bring their concerns directly to the KPU (General Elections Commission) and DPRD office.
The team of campaigners and volunteers is urging the leadership of the NasDem Party’s Purwakarta Regional Executive Board (DPD) to promptly initiate the PAW process, especially if all administrative requirements and eligibility criteria have already been fulfilled.
Sofyan Nawawi, a campaign team member and coordinator from Neglasari Village, expressed his frustration when speaking to AswinNews.com:
“We are hoping that the Chair of NasDem DPD Purwakarta, Yadi Rusmayadi, AP, M.Si, will give us clear direction and certainty regarding the PAW process. This is a matter of moral responsibility to our team and to the residents of Electoral District IV (Bojong-Darangdan), who expect representation and performance from their elected council member,” he said.
Known more familiarly as Uwak Yayan, Sofyan also revealed that the campaign team leader, along with village coordinators and around 150 supporters, are preparing to mobilize and directly approach the KPU and DPRD offices if the party continues to delay the process.

Meanwhile, a senior political figure and former DPRD member, identified by the initials RBM, offered a more nuanced perspective:
“This PAW issue can either be managed smoothly or made unnecessarily complicated. There are mechanisms and legal procedures to follow. It should ideally remain an internal party matter. The campaign team’s pressure may be understandable, but it’s essential to find a peaceful resolution. And let’s not forget—if it’s true that a council member reported her own parents to the authorities, regardless of the reason, it’s a deeply regrettable move. After all, they played a role in her rise to the DPRD.”
Legal Framework for PAW (Interim Replacement) of DPRD Members
The legal foundation for the PAW mechanism is regulated through several laws and regulations:
- Law No. 7 of 2017 on General Elections: Governs the overall electoral process, including interim replacement of DPRD members.
- Law No. 17 of 2014 on MD3: Regulates the structure and duties of MPR, DPR, DPD, and DPRD, including provisions for PAW.
- KPU Regulation (PKPU) No. 6 of 2019: Details the implementation procedures for PAW, including candidate verification and documentation requirements.
When contacted via WhatsApp, Denisa Wulandari, a DPRD member from the NasDem Party faction, provided a brief response:
“I am simply following the party’s mechanisms. As for personal and internal matters, they are not for public disclosure—not even to the constituents or fellow party cadres,” she said.
