Meskom Village Government Appeals to Residents to Maintain Cleanliness to Prevent Dengue Fever
BENGKALIS – ASWINNESW.COM – The Meskom Village Government has issued an appeal to all residents to be more vigilant against the threat of Dengue Fever (DBD) along with the erratic rainfall lately.
On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, the appeal was delivered to remind the public to always maintain environmental cleanliness, especially around homes and water channels. The village government emphasized the importance of cleaning yards and gutters to prevent puddles of water that can become breeding grounds for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, the main cause of DBD.
The Acting Head of Meskom Village, Susi Nelda, SE, Sy, MM, said that active community participation is needed to keep the environment clean and healthy.
“We invite all residents to care about the cleanliness of their respective environments. Don’t wait for there to be victims before we act. Prevent dengue fever by cleaning the environment regularly, especially places that can become mosquito nests,” said Susi Nelda.
Residents are also asked to take 3M steps (Drain, Cover, and Bury) and avoid behavior that allows mosquito nests to form.
With this appeal, it is hoped that all residents of Meskom Village can increase their awareness and participation in maintaining environmental cleanliness for the sake of mutual health
