Chairman of the Central Board of Trustees of ASWIN Expresses Condolences on the Passing and Funeral of Ali Khamenei

STATEMENT OF CONDOLENCES

Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm

Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn.
(“Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.”)

On behalf of myself and the Central Board of Trustees of ASWIN (International Journalists Association), I extend my deepest condolences on the passing and funeral of Ali Khamenei.

May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, accept all of his righteous deeds, bestow His infinite mercy upon him, and grant him the highest place in His presence. May his family, the people of Iran, and all those who mourn his passing be blessed with patience, strength, and steadfastness during this difficult time.

The passing of a prominent figure in the history of the Muslim world provides an opportunity for collective reflection. Amid the geopolitical challenges, conflicts, and polarization that continue to affect parts of the Islamic world, it is time for Muslims to strengthen ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood), reinforce solidarity, and uphold unity as the fundamental pillar for building a dignified and prosperous civilization.

We hope that the funeral and final tribute to the deceased will serve not only as an expression of grief, but also as a meaningful occasion to foster unity, brotherhood, and mutual respect among Muslims throughout the world. Differences in perspectives, schools of thought, and national backgrounds should be regarded as a source of strength that enriches fraternity, rather than a cause of division.

May this spirit of togetherness inspire closer cooperation among Muslim nations and communities in promoting peace, justice, freedom, respect for the sovereignty of nations, and the universal values of humanity.

Let this occasion remind us that the unity of the Muslim Ummah is a sacred trust that must always be preserved. Through strong bonds of brotherhood, Muslims can continue to make meaningful moral contributions toward building a world that is more peaceful, just, and compassionate.
