A Hajj pilgrim candidate from RT 18 Gang Sepakat, Sawah Lebar Baru Village, Bengkulu City, passed away after performing the Fajr prayer in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at around 05:00 local time.

Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Bengkulu Province, Intihan, confirmed the information. He stated that the deceased would be buried at Baqi Cemetery in Madinah.
“Innalillahi wainnailaihi rojiun, one of our pilgrim candidates has reportedly passed away and will be buried at Baqi Cemetery in Madinah.

We do not yet know the exact health condition of the deceased because the group leader and medical team are still preparing the burial process,” said Intihan in Bengkulu, Wednesday (29/4).
The deceased pilgrim candidate was identified as Tukiman.
He was part of Flight Group (Kloter) 4 of Padang Hajj Embarkation, West Sumatra, or Kloter 3 of Bengkulu Province Hajj Transit Embarkation.
Before passing away, he had performed the Fajr prayer in congregation at the Prophet’s Mosque along with other pilgrims.
After the prayer, he was reportedly on his way back to the hotel with the group.
However, during the return trip, he suddenly collapsed and was immediately taken to Assalam Hospital in Madinah for medical treatment.
The local medical team had provided maximum treatment and care.
However, fate decided otherwise, and he was pronounced dead after receiving treatment at the hospital
His passing has left deep sorrow for his family and the people of Bengkulu.
