Malang – AswinNews.com — The Quick Response Team of PPPKRI Bela Negara (TRCBN) Mada II Malang moved swiftly to distribute clean water assistance to residents of Dawung Hamlet, Jombok Village, Ngantang District,
Malang Regency, on Thursday (February 12, 2026), following a clean water crisis that has affected the area for several days due to landslide-damaged water channels.
After receiving reports from residents, the TRCBN team immediately conducted a rapid assessment at the affected location.

The results confirmed that residents were indeed experiencing severe difficulty obtaining clean water because the main water source pipeline had been buried by a landslide.
Chairman of PPPKRI Bela Negara Mada II Malang, who is also the East Java Regional Head and Malang Raya Bureau Chief of AswinNews.com, Teddy Hendrawan, directly led the humanitarian action.
“In Dawung Hamlet, residents urgently need clean water.
After receiving information, we immediately coordinated with the Bela Negara Disaster Division and promptly deployed assistance,” he said.
Distribution of 6,000 Liters of Clean Water
As an emergency response, TRCBN Mada II dispatched one water tanker truck to supply residents’ needs. Around 10:00 AM local time, the vehicle departed and directly distributed water door-to-door in the affected area.
In the initial phase, distribution was focused on Dawung Hamlet.
A total of approximately 6,000 liters of clean water has been delivered to residents.
Teddy emphasized that the action was purely humanitarian.
“We are obliged to help because this is about morality, empathy, and humanity.
Water is a fundamental necessity of life,” he stressed.
Encouraging Education and Disaster Mitigation
Meanwhile, the Bela Negara Mada II Malang Disaster Division, represented by Saiful Wadiin, stated that they are also preparing preventive measures in the form of disaster preparedness education for the community.
“We are preparing educational programs so that the community becomes more responsive and resilient in facing disaster risks, including clean water shortages,” he explained.
Residents’ Expectations and Village Government Response
Several residents hope the village government can respond more quickly, considering the water crisis has lasted nearly five days.
Responding to this, Jombok Village Secretary Ratih stated that repairs are currently underway.
“The handling process is ongoing, and it is estimated that water will flow again by tomorrow at the latest.
The obstacle is that the damaged location is in a forest area, so coordination with Perhutani is needed, including for cutting obstructing trees,” she said.
Ready to Collaborate
TRCBN Bela Negara Mada II Malang affirmed its readiness to continue collaborating with various parties in disaster response and humanitarian activities.
“This action has no particular agenda. It is purely about humanity and social concern. We are ready to collaborate with anyone,” Teddy concluded.
As of the time this report was published, the clean water social aid distribution was still ongoing in the affected area.
