Batubara, | Aswinnews.com – The intention to resolve the case amicably ended bitterly for the family of a suspect in a case of underage sexual intercourse. Instead of getting justice, the family reported the Batubara Police Criminal Investigation Unit investigator to the Profession and Security Division (Propam) of the North Sumatra Police, for allegedly committing extortion. The reporter with the initials D, who is the parent of one of the suspects, came directly to the North Sumatra Police Headquarters to report the assistant investigator with the initials H. D was not alone; he came accompanied by two attorneys, Fajar Hardikah, SH and Ardiansyah, SH, as well as a number of media crews who also covered the report. This official report is registered with the complaint letter number SPSP2/75/IV/2025 SUBAGANDUAN.

In his statement to the media, D revealed that the alleged extortion began with a request for peace offered by investigators with an astonishing figure.
“Initially, the individual wrote the figure of Rp200 million on the table during the conversation. That really surprised us. We felt as if we were being forced to settle this case by paying,” said D.
What was even more disappointing, he continued, was that both the victim and the suspect had actually agreed to make peace amicably. The peace statement had been made in writing on a stamp, witnessed by the village head, and even communicated directly via telephone with the victim who stated that he would no longer sue the case.
However, even though there had been a peace agreement, the child of the reporter was still detained and processed legally.

“This is what confuses us. Peace has been made, there are no more reports of continuation from the victim, but why is our child still detained? This is what makes us suspect that there is a game and pressure from certain individuals,” said Fajar Hardikah, SH, the reporter’s attorney.
Fajar also said that the report to Propam was a legal step taken to seek justice and asked the police to follow up on the alleged abuse of authority by its members.
The family hopes that the Head of Propam Polda Sumut will immediately conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged ethical and legal violations by the person concerned, and impose strict sanctions if proven guilty.
“We do not want ordinary people like us to continue to be victims of injustice. We believe that there are still many officers who are clean and professional. But those like this must be dealt with firmly,” concluded Ardiansyah, SH.
This case has attracted public attention because it reflects public concern about the integrity of law enforcement officers, especially at the regional level. Great hopes are now pinned on Propam Polda Sumut to thoroughly investigate this case and restore public trust in the police institution.
