BENGKALIS, | Aswinnews.com — The Bantan Tua Village Government together with the Village Consultative Body (BPD) held a preparatory meeting for the establishment of the Red and White Village Cooperative on Monday (5/5/2025) in the village office hall. This meeting is the initial step before the Village Deliberation (Musdes) scheduled for Monday, May 19, 2025, to ratify the establishment of the cooperative.
Acting Head of Bantan Tua Village, Ners Harmidayanti, S.Kep, emphasized that cooperatives are a form of people’s economy according to Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning Cooperatives.
“This cooperative will be a forum for economic independence for residents. The village government is ready to ensure that its operations are professional, transparent, and in the interests of the community,” said Harmidayanti.
In the meeting, the participants discussed a number of strategic points:
Appointment of Management: Five candidates for management involving elements of the BPD and community leaders.
Initial Capital: Planning of basic savings and mandatory savings of members as basic capital.
Business Concept: Preparation of a cooperative business line plan, from savings and loans to local production.
Open Membership: Member registration is open to all residents of Bantan Tua Village.
AD/ART: Preparation of articles of association and household budgets in accordance with the latest legal provisions.
The meeting agreement emphasized that the Merah Putih Village Cooperative is expected to be the driving force of the local economy, creating business opportunities, and improving the welfare of residents in an inclusive and sustainable manner.
