INDRAMAYU-ASWINNEWS.COM- The purpose of establishing the Indramayu and West Java River Basin Management Coordination Forum (FK DAS) is to assist the Government in finding financing partners for the construction of the Cipancuh reservoir to make it like the Jatiluhur Reservoir.
This was conveyed by H. Dudung Badrun, SH.MH, Chairman of the FK PDAS Indramayu Expert Council, Sunday morning, May 4, 2025, at his residence in Segeran Kidul Village, Indramayu.
H. Badrun continued, the Cipancuh Reservoir has an area of around 700 hectares and was built in 1927 by the Dutch East Indies government.
“This reservoir has undergone embankment reconstruction in 1972 to improve its function as a source of irrigation water to irrigate agriculture in the surrounding area,” he added.
Some of the technical specifications of the Cipancuh Reservoir are, Length 3300 meters, Water Volume 8,000,000 cubic meters, Surface Height 31.7 meters
The main function of the Cipancuh Reservoir is to store water during the rainy season and channel it to the surrounding irrigation rivers
The Cipancuh Reservoir is located in Situraja Village, Gantar District, Indramayu, West Java, and has an important role in supporting agricultural and irrigation activities in the surrounding areas.
In addition, this reservoir is also known for its beautiful natural scenery and is a popular tourist destination in the area.
