CIREBON CITY — ASWINNEWS.COM-collaboration between Korem 063/SGJ, the Cirebon City National Narcotics Agency (BNNK), Laskar Agung Macan Ali, and DPD BAMAGNAS Ciko warmly welcomed the arrival of Thudong monks from Thailand in Cirebon City on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
At around 1:00 PM local time, the group of monks entered Cirebon City via Jl. Cipto toward Jl. Pembangunan, as part of their spiritual journey to Borobudur Temple for the celebration of Vesak Day 2569.
During this journey, Laskar Agung Macan Ali served as the main escort, ensuring the monks’ safety and smooth passage through the Cirebon area.
The Head of BNNK Cirebon, Police Commissioner Tunggul Sinatrio, S.I.K., M.H., who attended the event, expressed his appreciation for the monks’ presence. He considered this moment a true reflection of interfaith tolerance in Indonesia, while also linking it to a campaign promoting a healthy lifestyle free from drugs in Cirebon City.
“We warmly welcome the arrival of the Thai Thudong monks.

During their stop in Cirebon, the monks took a short break and held meetings with Buddhist communities, Forkopimda elements, religious leaders, community figures, and local residents. This event aimed to strengthen brotherhood and reinforce the values of interfaith harmony in Indonesia.
Moreover, the event demonstrated not only a commitment to upholding tolerance but also strengthened the synergy between law enforcement, community organizations, and religious communities in maintaining social harmony in Cirebon City.
