Purwakarta Police Narcotics Unit Arrests Methamphetamine Dealer With Evidence of 15 Packages
PURWAKARTA, ASWINNEWS.COM — The Purwakarta Police Narcotics Unit (Satres) has once again demonstrated its commitment to eradicating narcotics trafficking in its jurisdiction. This time, a man who is strongly suspected of being a methamphetamine dealer was successfully arrested on Monday, April 21, 2025.
The perpetrator with the initials AM (31) was arrested at his residence in Citalang Village, Purwakarta District, Purwakarta Regency.
Purwakarta Police Chief, AKBP Lilik Ardhiansyah through the Head of Narcotics Investigation Unit, AKP Yudi Wahyudi said that this success was part of the police’s swift action in responding to information from the public.
“Based on this information, his members immediately moved and conducted an investigation and it turned out that the information was true. After conducting surveillance, we immediately arrested the perpetrator. At that time the perpetrator was at his house,” said Yudi, on Wednesday, (4/23/2025).
Then, he said, officers conducted a search of the perpetrator, during the search 15 packages were found suspected of containing methamphetamine.
“Our members found 15 packages of methamphetamine lying on the table in the perpetrator’s room. In addition to methamphetamine, we also secured a silver Oppo brand cellphone which is suspected of being related to drug trafficking activities,” said Yudi.
It did not stop there, he emphasized that further development would also be carried out to uncover the network and origin of the illicit goods.
“Currently, the perpetrator and evidence have been secured at the Purwakarta Police Narcotics Unit to undergo further legal proceedings. We are also still investigating the drug trafficking network involving the perpetrator,” said Yudi.
For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) and/or Article 112 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. “With a prison sentence of more than 15 years,” Yudi continued.
The arrest, he said, could provide a deterrent effect on the perpetrator and other members of the community so that they would not be involved in the crime of drug trafficking because his party would continue to try to suppress and eliminate drugs from Purwakarta.
“We also ask the community to help by reporting when they find something suspicious in their residential environment, we will immediately follow up,” concluded Yudi.
The Purwakarta Police emphasized their commitment to fighting drugs and invited the community to continue to work together to protect the environment from the dangers of drug abuse.
