Madina Regency Targets Rice Harvest Results per Hectare to Reach 7.2 Tons
Madina- aswinenws.com -The Mandailing Natal Regency Government (Pemkab Madina) is targeting the community’s rice harvest results per hectare to reach 7.2 tons or an increase from the previous year which was in the position of 5-6.5 tons.
This was conveyed by Deputy Regent Atika Azmi Utammi Nasution after participating in the Simultaneous Rice Planting Movement with President Prabowo Subianto. The Madina Regency Government participated in the activity from the rice fields of Sihepeng Village, Siabu District, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
“We are targeting up to 7.2 tons per hectare. This is the target, yes, today’s position is still in the range of 5-6.5 tons,” said the deputy regent.
Achieving this target will bring Madina to achieve rice self-sufficiency as well as become a supplier for other regions. “Currently Madina is self-sufficient in rice,” explained Deputy Regent Atika.
Madina Deputy Regent hopes that good collaboration with Bulog, TNI and Polri can support the absorption of rice in accordance with the instructions of the central government, including prices at the farmer level.
For information, the initial planting of rice in Madina was carried out on 25 hectares of rice fields which are part of the swamp land optimization program.
This activity was also attended by Dandim 0212/TS Lt. Col. Arm Delli Yudha Adi Nurcahyo, elements of Forkopincam, Head of BRMP North Sumatra Dr. Khadijah EL Ramija, S.Pi, M.P, representatives of the Directorate General of Plantations Dwimas Suryanata Nugraha, S.H, M.H, and several heads of OPDs of the Madina Regency Government.
