Finally, the Gaza Peace Summit in Egypt held on 13 October 2025 resulted in an important agreement to stop the conflict in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. The following were the main points of the summit’s results:

  1. The ceasefire had begun and Israeli forces would soon be withdrawn from Gaza.
  2. Israel’s hostages held captive by Hamas for two years have been released.
  3. The release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners was agreed upon as part of the treaty.
  4. Humanitarian aid will enter Gaza to overcome the crisis arising from the conflict.
  5. The resolution of the conflict was carried out in stages, including the handling of unaccounted for bodies.
  6. The summit was led by U.S. President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and was attended by more than 20 countries and international organizations including Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto who also supported the peace process.

All the delegates present hope that this summit will be a good first step in a joint effort towards sustainable peace in the Gaza area and the Middle East as a whole.

As for the points of the ceasefire agreement and the withdrawal of troops from the results of the Gaza Peace Summit in Egypt, a brief summary is as follows:

  • The ceasefire came into effect immediately after the agreement and was announced by both parties, Israel and Hamas.
  • All military operations, including air strikes and artillery will be suspended.
  • The withdrawal of Israeli troops was carried out in stages according to the agreed area map, with troops remaining on the border line for security.
  • The withdrawn areas included the Netzarim corridor in Central Gaza and the Philadelphia corridor next to the Egyptian border.
  • The gradual opening of the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt, to allow humanitarian aid and the exit of patients.
  • The ceasefire was implemented in several stages over several weeks, which also included the exchange of prisoners between the two sides.
  • The first phase focused on humanitarian action and troop withdrawal, continued further negotiations and reconstruction of Gaza.
  • The surveillance and monitoring mechanisms of the ceasefire are carried out by international mediators, including the U.S. and Egypt.

It is our hope that this agreement will comprehensively end the protracted war and begin long-term reconstruction and stability in Gaza towards Palestinian Independence
