JOMBANG – ASWINNEWS.COM

Two students from Darul Ulum Islamic University (UNIPDU) Jombang, Inggit Mufidatul Umami and Sherly Maldalena, have successfully spread the light of faith abroad through the International Community Service Program (KPMI) held at SB At-Tanzil School, Cheras, Selangor, Malaysia, from August 20 to September 22, 2025.

The program served as a spiritual development platform and a means of building Islamic character among the children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) living in Malaysia. Each day, the children participated in congregational prayers, Dhuha prayers, and collective recitations of Sholawat Nariyah, fostering both devotion and togetherness.

Instilling Faith and Morality from an Early Age

In addition to daily worship routines, the two students also taught Qur’an recitation, tajwid (proper pronunciation), and Islamic history using interactive and engaging methods. Their warm approach made the children enthusiastic and comfortable with religious activities.

“We want to nurture a love for worship from an early age and help the children develop positive habits,” said Inggit Mufidatul Umami, reflecting on her experience in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Sherly Maldalena added that the program not only benefited the children but also supported parents in maintaining moral education within their families.

“We hope these habits will continue even after we return to Indonesia,” she expressed.

Warm Reception and Deep Meaning

The KPMI program received a warm welcome from SB At-Tanzil administrators and parents of the students, who praised the presence of Indonesian students for bringing the spirit of dakwah (Islamic outreach) and moral education.

Through this simple yet meaningful initiative, the Unipdu students successfully created a religious and affectionate atmosphere while strengthening Islamic education among Indonesian migrant families in Malaysia.

Beyond its spiritual impact, the activity also served as a bridge of friendship that strengthens bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia—two neighboring nations with deep cultural and historical ties.

📝 Editorial Note:

The International Community Service Program (KPMI) of Unipdu proves that education and faith know no borders. These two young women have shown that “a small act of devotion, when done sincerely, can illuminate many hearts.”
Aswinnews.com views this initiative as a model of synergy between Islamic education, cultural diplomacy, and humanitarian mission across nations.
