The 126th Tentara Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) — or the Integrated Military Program for Village Development — was officially launched in Lebakharjo Village, Ampelgading District, Malang Regency, on Wednesday (October 8, 2025).
Hundreds of army personnel have been deployed to serve local communities through various development projects over the next 30 days.

The opening ceremony, held simultaneously across several regencies and cities in Indonesia, took place at Lebakharjo Football Field, Jl. Penggalang No. 193.
The event was led by Malang Regent Drs. H.M. Sanusi as the Inspector of the Ceremony, with Lettu Arm Alvin Diza Irawan serving as the Commander of the Ceremony.
More than 500 participants joined the event, including representatives from the Indonesian Army, the local government, and the community.

Physical and Non-Physical Development Programs

This year’s TMMD program focuses on both infrastructure and community development projects.
The physical works include:

Normalization of irrigation canals,

Construction of drainage systems at two main points,

Road paving,

Installation of retaining walls (bronjong),

Concrete roadworks,

Clean water pipeline installation (pipanisasi),

Construction of agricultural access roads (Jalan Usaha Tani or JUT).

Meanwhile, the non-physical programs feature various community empowerment initiatives such as technical training, agricultural counseling, social awareness sessions, livestock health treatment, and food assistance distribution.

Strengthening Synergy Between the Military and the Community

The event was attended by Danrem 083/Baladhika Jaya Colonel Inf Kohir, Dandim 0818 Malang Lt. Col. Czi Bayu Nugroho, Malang Police Deputy Chief Kompol Wisnu Setiawan Kuncoro, Malang Regency DPRD Chairperson Darmadi, S.Sos, and other officials from related agencies, as well as local residents.

In his address, Colonel Kohir highlighted that one of the main projects of TMMD 126 is the installation of a 2.5-kilometer clean water pipeline, aimed at improving water distribution for local residents.

“Lebakharjo Village has abundant water sources, but poor management has caused water to go to waste. Through this piped water project, we hope clean water can reach all households evenly,” said Colonel Kohir.

He also emphasized the importance of constructing agricultural access roads (JUT) to support the local farming sector.

“Agriculture is the main livelihood in this area. The new access roads will make it easier for farmers to transport fertilizers, seeds, and harvests, improving their welfare,” he added.

Focusing on Remote Villages

Malang Regent Drs. H.M. Sanusi explained that Lebakharjo Village was chosen as the TMMD 126 location due to its remote position — about 35 kilometers east of Malang’s city center, with steep and winding roads.

“We prioritize border and remote villages. TMMD has also been held in Kasembon District (west) and Donomulyo District (south),” said Regent Sanusi.

He expressed appreciation for the program, emphasizing that it serves as a strong example of collaboration between the military, government, and the people.

“TMMD provides multiple benefits — from agriculture and livestock to tourism, clean water access, and sanitation. This is a true reflection of joint development for Malang,” he concluded.

📝 Editorial Note:

The 126th TMMD in Malang exemplifies the spirit of collaboration between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the local government, and communities to accelerate rural development. Beyond physical construction, the program strengthens social resilience, fosters unity, and promotes sustainable local growth — embodying the essence of “Together We Build the Nation.”
