MALANG- ASWINNEWSCOM – As a culmination of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day celebrations, the Keden Village committee in Mulyorejo, Ngantang, Malang Regency, organized a recitation event to commemorate Maulid Nabi, featuring renowned preacher Tan Mei Hwa. The event was held at Masjid Al-Hidayah in Keden Village, located on the main provincial road between Malang and Kediri, on the evening of Friday, September 5, 2025.
In his remarks, Mulyorejo Village Head Warsono expressed his gratitude to the committee and the entire Keden Village community for their efforts in organizing this event, which marked the culmination of the Independence Day celebrations. Warsono hoped that these activities would continue to bring benefits, blessings, and prosperity to the people of Keden Village and Mulyorejo Village in general.
According to the event committee chair, Slamet Hariyadi, Tan Mei Hwa was invited at the request of the Keden Village community due to her captivating preaching style. Her presence was attended by three Muspika leaders of Ngantang District, village heads, and thousands of Muslims from Mulyorejo Village.
Tan Mei Hwa, also known as Ibu Nyai, is a Chinese-Indonesian Islamic preacher from Surabaya who has been active in da’wah since 1993. She is known for her unique voice and ability to relate her sermons to current issues in Indonesia. Darmadi, a community leader from another village, praised Tan Mei Hwa’s inclusive approach to da’wah, saying that she never discriminates against any group or ethnicity.
The event featured Tan Mei Hwa’s sermon, which emphasized the importance of emulating the Prophet Muhammad’s character and having good morals. She also reminded the audience that Allah SWT is aware of even the smallest acts of corruption and that everything will be accounted for in the hereafter.
The event concluded with a prayer and was carried out in an orderly and secure manner, thanks to the assistance of the Linmas Desa Mulyorejo and PPPKRI Bela Negara.
