Jombang, AswinNews.com – Students of the Community Service Program (KPM) Group 6 from Universitas Pesantren Tinggi Darul Ulum (UNIPDU) Jombang organized a seminar titled “Empowered Village in the Digital Era: Synergy of Content Creativity and Financial Literacy for MSMEs” at Kayen Village Hall on Monday (August 18, 2025). The event was attended by around 41 participants from Kayen Village and neighboring areas.
Chairman of KPM Group 6, Zhulfikar Ahksan, emphasized the importance of digitalization in strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). According to him, many entrepreneurs today are able to earn millions of rupiah in monthly revenue by leveraging social media.
“The purpose of this seminar is to encourage MSMEs to grow through digital technology. We hope the knowledge shared by the speakers can be directly applied by Kayen villagers in their daily businesses,” he said.
Similarly, Kayen Village Head, Bandar Kedungmulyo, noted that social media has a wide reach that can cross regional boundaries. He stressed the importance of creative content as a means of promoting the village’s potential.
The first session featured Lailatul Jihan, a content creator, who delivered material on Content Creativity. She highlighted that business promotion can start from simple steps, such as consistently posting photos or short videos on WhatsApp Stories, Facebook, or Instagram.
“At first, customers may just be neighbors. But with digital marketing, the market potential becomes much wider. Content doesn’t have to be complicated—simple photos can already serve as effective promotion,” she explained.
The second session was presented by Ririn Susilawati, S.H.I., M.E.I., with the theme Financial Literacy. She outlined four key aspects of financial management: budget allocation, identifying funding sources, risk management, and future planning.
“If your dreams are big, don’t rely solely on your salary. At the very least, you should have protections like BPJS (health insurance), even if self-funded, to ensure safety against risks,” she advised.
The interactive discussion was lively, with one of the main takeaways being the importance of consistency in creating content. Consistency, the participants agreed, is key to opening collaboration opportunities and even securing endorsements for MSME players.
Through this seminar, KPM UNIPDU Jombang hopes that Kayen’s MSMEs will become more empowered by mastering digital technology and sound financial management, enabling them to compete in the digital era.
This KPM initiative is not only an educational program but also tangible proof of the role of students in assisting communities to face contemporary challenges. Digitalization and financial literacy are no longer optional—they are strategic keys for MSMEs to grow sustainably and strengthen people’s economy from the village level.
