FORNAS VIII NTB: Medal Ceremony for FESPATI Archery and Closing of Competitions

The second day of the National Sports Festival (FORNAS) VIII in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) was lively and full of energy. One of the most exciting events was the archery competition by the FESPATI organization, which attracted a large number of participants.

A total of 23 provincial contingents took part in the FESPATI archery event, bringing 749 athletes and 147 officials, with overall attendance reaching around 1,500 visitors from across Indonesia on Sunday, July 27, 2025.

The FESPATI archery competition featured 16 categories, including:

• U-12 Boys & Girls (Qualification and Elimination rounds)
• U-18 Boys & Girls (Qualification and Elimination)
• General categories: 20m and 25m (Men & Women)
• Hunting category and a special invitation for 3 non-competitor guests from Australia

Several provinces dominated the medal tally, including East Kalimantan, East Java, West Java, Central Java, Central Papua, NTB, Bali, and Lampung.

A special award for Best Costume was presented to the contingent from Central Papua, announced during the opening ceremony on July 26, 2025, by FESPATI Chairman Imran Taufik. The archery competitions concluded with a medal ceremony for the winners.

Imran Taufik expressed his gratitude:

“Alhamdulillah, everything ran smoothly without any problems. The enthusiasm from young archers is impressive — some might even become national or international champions. Archery is a sport with no age limit, and it brings great joy to everyone who participates.”

He also praised the sportsmanship of all 23 contingents, saying the event truly lived up to the FORNAS VIII NTB motto:

“Win or lose, everyone is happy — with a spirit of health, fitness, fun, and togetherness.”

Finally, he thanked NTB as the host, the medical team, officials, and all the delegations involved. He hopes future FESPATI events at FORNAS will be even more professional and competitive, while still maintaining the traditional spirit of Indonesian archery.
