Jakarta, June 8, 2025
The Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) launched its biweekly program “Healthy Sunday” at the Car Free Day (CFD) area in front of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in Jakarta. This initiative is part of the broader “Active Indonesia” campaign, aiming to encourage citizens to adopt healthy and active lifestyles through various community-based sports.

🤸‍♀️ More than 100 Traditional Sports Introduced to the Public

Adil Hakim, Chairman of KORMI National, stated that the movement is a fresh step to reactivate community-based sports, which had been dormant in recent years.

“We’re starting a new wave of public participation through Healthy Sunday. This is a platform to showcase community sports such as gasing (spinning top), slingshot, aerobics, and over 100 other activities under KORMI’s umbrella,” said Adil.

He explained that since the new board’s inauguration, KORMI has focused on organizing programs that engage people on the ground. One such effort is leveraging Car Free Day events to hold mass walking and fitness sessions.

📅 Running Until End of 2025, with National Reach

Firman Kurniawan, Head of KORMI’s Program and Event Division, said that the Healthy Sunday initiative began in early June 2025 and will continue until the end of the year.

“We originally planned to start on Pancasila Day, June 1, but today marks our first event. We’ve been promoting the campaign since February across all 38 provinces, aiming for widespread collaboration,” he explained.

🏃‍♀️ Mass Aerobics and Sports Showcases Led by ASKI

The Indonesian Aerobic Sports Association (ASKI) led the mass aerobic session with enthusiastic participation from the public. According to Dr. Eny Riangwati Tanzil, SpKO, KORMI’s Vice Chairperson I, this program is part of their strategic plan for 2024–2028.

“Held every two weeks, Healthy Sunday introduces 105 registered community sports (Inorga) in rotation, allowing the public to discover and try different activities,” she noted.

🥊 Muaythai Community Joins the Movement

The event also received support from PP.ASMUTRI (Traditional Muaythai Association of Indonesia). Its chairman, Opniel Untung T, expressed his full support for KORMI’s initiative.

“As a national sports organization, it is our duty to support every program by KORMI. I believe KORMI will grow stronger and become a valuable government partner in building a healthier and happier Indonesian society,” said Opniel.

🇮🇩 A National Movement for a Healthier Indonesia

Through Healthy Sunday, KORMI not only promotes physical activity but also unites communities across Indonesia by embracing both traditional and modern sports. The events foster joyful and inclusive participation, reinforcing national unity and well-being.
