ASWIN Jombang Sets 2025–2030 Program: Encourage Professionalism and Quality Media

Jombang,| Aswinnews.com — To improve the quality and professionalism of local journalism, the Jombang Regency Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of the International Journalists Association (ASWIN) held a limited meeting on Monday, May 4, 2025.

Taking place at the DPC ASWIN Jombang secretariat, Nglawan Hamlet, Senden Village, Peterongan District, the meeting was led directly by the Chairperson of the DPC ASWIN Jombang, Fathurozi, S.E., and attended by the management and members.

This meeting discussed and determined six strategic work programs for the 2025–2030 period. The main focus is to encourage the creation of accurate, educational, and independent local digital media, as a response to the challenges of the digital era and the rise of disinformation.

“In the midst of the rapid flow of information, journalists are required not only to be fast, but also accurate and responsible. ASWIN is here to support data-based journalism and strong public literacy,” said Fathurozi.

The six strategic programs formulated include:
Strengthening Journalist Capacity – Through training, competency tests, and increasing digital literacy.

Improving Content Quality – Encouraging investigative reporting, data-based writing, and utilizing SEO techniques.

Collaboration and Partnership – Establishing synergy with national media and civil society institutions.

Press Advocacy and Protection – Providing legal support and protection for journalists.

Organizational Sustainability – Developing a media business model and developing funding through grants.

Monitoring and Evaluation – Establishing performance indicators and conducting periodic audits.

This program will be implemented in stages by involving various stakeholders, including academics, local governments, and civil society. ASWIN Jombang also opens up collaboration space with other media to strengthen the local press ecosystem.

With a long-term vision and collective commitment, DPC ASWIN Jombang is optimistic that it can become a locomotive of change in building credible and effective journalism for democracy and regional development.
