Plant Hope, Harvest Resilience: TNI-IPB Synergy for a Food Sovereign Indonesia

Jakarta -aswinnews.com-In an effort to support the national food security program, Aster Panglima TNI Maj. Gen. TNI Mohammad Naudi Nurdika, S.I.P., M.Si., M.Tr.(Han). together with Vice Chancellor of IPB University Prof. Dr. Ir. Ernan Rustiadi, M.Agr., opened the Technical Guidance (Bimtek) for the Food Security Production Company for the 2025 Fiscal Year at the Andi Hakim Nasoetion Auditorium, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor, Monday (4/21/2025).

In his remarks, Aster Panglima TNI emphasized the importance of the TNI’s role in Military Operations Other Than War (OMSP). “In the future we have to think, the TNI does not only think about war, the TNI does not only think about military operations. In accordance with the TNI Law, including those that have been ratified, in the OMSP, there is assistance to the regional government, there is empowerment of defense areas,” he said.

The Production Company is one of the concrete forms of the TNI’s contribution in supporting food self-sufficiency and President Prabowo’s free nutritious food program. This company also functions as a training center for territorial officers (Babinsa, Babinpotmar, and Babinpotdirga), an education center, research, and an agrotourism facility. Its implementation will utilize land owned by the community, the regional government, Perhutani, the private sector, or other non-productive land.

Closing his remarks, the Aster Panglima TNI emphasized the importance of sustainability and expansion of cooperation. “We will continue to develop this collaboration, not only at IPB, maybe later in the regions there will also be universities that also handle this, please develop it,” he said. This activity was attended by 100 middle-ranking officers from three TNI branches and continued with a review of IPB’s leading research facilities.
