Traffic Unit of Meranti Police Commemorates Kartini Day with Action to Care for Driving Safety

MERANTAI – ASWINNEWS.COM – In order to commemorate Kartini Day which falls on April 21, the Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Meranti Islands Police held a sympathetic action by distributing SNI standard helmets and flowers to drivers in the Selatpanjang City area, Monday (04/21/2025).

This activity aims to raise public awareness of the importance of safety in traffic and as a form of respect for the spirit of emancipation inherited by R.A. Kartini.

The Meranti Islands Police Chief, AKBP Aldi Alfa Faroqi SH SIK MH through the Head of Traffic Unit AKP Fajri Sentosa said that this activity is a humanist approach packaged in the nuance of Kartini Day to educate the public to always obey traffic rules.

“We distributed 10 SNI helmets and 50 flowers to orderly drivers. This is a form of appreciation and a reminder of the importance of driving safety,” said AKP Fajri.

According to him, although tasked with regulating traffic, the Meranti Police Traffic Unit also prioritizes a friendly approach to the community, one of which is by giving small but meaningful gifts.

He hopes that this action can raise collective awareness in the community to wear helmets, carry vehicle documents, and avoid risky actions such as speeding or riding a motorbike under the influence of alcohol.

“Driver safety is our priority. Through this activity, we want to emphasize that orderly traffic is not only an obligation, but also a form of love for oneself and others,” he said.

The activity also received a positive response from the public passing by, especially drivers who did not expect to get free flowers and helmets on the morning of Kartini Day.
