SDN Kedungbogo Preserves Culture Through Reog Association

JOMBANG-ASWINNEWS.CIM- In the midst of the rapid flow of globalization, efforts to preserve local culture continue to be carried out by SD Negeri Kedungbogo, Ngusikan District, Jombang Regency. One concrete form of this commitment is the presence of a Reog arts association called Putro Singo Manggolo.

The association, led by Subekti Utomo, S.Pd.SD., has 20 members and is active in introducing traditional Reog art to the younger generation, especially school students.

The presence of this group is not just entertainment, but has become an important medium for cultural education. They routinely appear in various community activities such as village alms, hamlet carnivals, bridal celebrations, circumcisions, graduation ceremonies for students, to thanksgiving and birthday celebrations. In fact, they are often invited to appear in district-level events such as art and cultural education performances known as “Pesbukab”.

The principal of Kedungbogo State Elementary School emphasized that this activity is part of character building and instilling cultural identity from an early age.
