Bengkalis District Attorney’s Office Destroys First Permanent Evidence in 2025
BENGKALIS – ASWINNEWS.COM – The Bengkalis District Attorney’s Office (Kejari) carried out the first destruction of evidence in 2025 that has permanent legal force (inkrah), Thursday, April 10, 2025. This activity was held in the yard of the Bengkalis District Attorney’s Office, Jalan Pertanian, Senggoro Village, Bengkalis District.
This destruction was also witnessed by a number of representatives from the Forkopimda and related agencies. Present representing the Bengkalis Regent Kasmarni, namely the Expert Staff for Government, Law and Politics, Ed Effendi. In addition, representatives from the Bengkalis District Court, Polres, Kodim 0303/Bengkalis, Customs, as well as prosecutors and members of the press were present.
Head of the Bengkalis District Attorney’s Office, Odit Megonondo, in his statement revealed that the evidence destroyed consisted of a total of 56 narcotics cases. The details are 121.17 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 23 ecstasy pills, and 31.9 grams of marijuana.
Not only that, the District Attorney’s Office also destroyed evidence from 9 general citizen cases, as well as 2 cases related to state security and public order (kamtibum) and other general crimes (TPUL). The total evidence destroyed was 67 cases.
“All of this evidence has been decided by the court and has permanent legal force. This destruction is part of our duty in enforcing the law and providing a sense of justice to the community,” said Odit Megonondo.
He added that the destruction of this evidence is a real form of the Bengkalis District Attorney’s Office’s commitment to supporting the eradication of criminal acts and increasing public legal awareness.
“With this activity, we hope to provide a deterrent effect to perpetrators of crime and at the same time provide legal education to the community to be more obedient to the rules,” he added.
The destruction of evidence is a concrete step by the Bengkalis District Attorney’s Office in strengthening the role of law enforcement and creating a safer and more orderly environment in Bengkalis Regency.
