Every Muslim believes that Lailatul Qadar is a blessed night, better than a thousand months, where all prayers and acts of worship are multiplied in reward.
Interestingly, in the context of Indonesian history, the independence gained on August 17, 1945 coincided with the 9th of Ramadhan 1364 Hijriah, which has deep symbolic meaning for Muslims. Now, approaching Indonesia’s 84th birthday, we are faced with a big question: has this nation achieved glory comparable to that blessed night?
Observing the Nation’s Journey
Like the night of glory that only comes once a year, Indonesia’s journey towards independence is the result of countless extraordinary struggles.
Our heroes, with strong faith in Allah, fought for freedom from colonialism. Now, we as the next generation must be responsible for maintaining this independence with full awareness of Islamic values that teach us to always seek blessings in every step of life.
However, the reflection of Indonesian independence is not only seen from how far we fill independence with physical and economic progress. What is more important is, to what extent we as Muslims maintain the values of goodness and piety that are in accordance with Islamic teachings in our daily lives.
Independence is a gift that must be maintained with blessings, not only in worldly aspects, but also in our worship and morality.
Blessings in Action
Ramadan is a month full of noble deeds. However, the blessings we obtain from this holy month do not stop when Ramadan ends.
Muslims are taught to continue to improve themselves, maintain good relationships with Allah, and also with fellow human beings throughout the year. Similarly, with an independent Indonesia, we must continue to fill this independence with deeds that are not only beneficial for ourselves, but also for the entire people and nation.
Syawal fasting, increasing charity, maintaining night prayers, and maintaining good morals are some ways we can do to maintain blessings. Learning from Ramadan, let’s make good habits a continuous routine in our daily lives, even though the holy month has passed.
Welcoming 84 Years of Independence: Momentum for Change
In four years, Indonesia will reach its 84th anniversary of independence. This is the right time to reflect: have we carried out this independence with full blessings?
From an Islamic perspective, every person is ordered to always improve themselves, both in worship and in living in society.
All of us, both as individuals and as a nation, must continue to strive to maintain unity, uphold justice, and share grace with others.
Conclusion
True Blessings for Indonesia
As Muslims, we are taught that every night filled with prayer and dhikr has extraordinary power in the sight of Allah. Lailatul Qadar is a symbol that with faith and good deeds, we can achieve abundant blessings. Likewise with Indonesian independence, which must be filled with efforts to maintain blessings through real actions.
Four years to the age of 84 years of independence is an opportunity for us to ensure that this nation remains on the right track, in line with noble religious and moral values.
Let us prove that Indonesian independence is not only about physical freedom, but also the freedom to grow in blessings, peace, and prosperity based on faith in Allah SWT.
With strong conviction, let us welcome the future of this nation with full hope, towards a better and more blessed Indonesia.
