Lailatul Qadar: The Night of Glory That is Longed For

Tonight, 27 Ramadan, is often associated with the revelation of the Qur’an and is believed by some scholars to be the night of Lailatul Qadar. A night that is better than a thousand months, where every prayer and deed has extraordinary value in the sight of Allah.

However, is it true that Lailatul Qadar only falls on the 27th of Ramadan?

In various hadiths, the Prophet ﷺ never confirmed the exact date, only mentioning that it was among the odd nights in the last ten days of Ramadan.

This means that our focus should not be on one particular night, but on all of these efficacious times.

Unfortunately, many people only worship maximally on the 27th night, then slacken off afterward. In fact, the essence of Lailatul Qadar is not just finding one night, but how that night changes our lives.

If our worship is only ceremonial, without any improvement after Ramadan, aren’t we losing its true meaning?

Lailatul Qadar is not just about getting great rewards overnight, but about self-reflection and transformation. If we really meet this blessed night, its impact should be felt in our faith and morals throughout the year.

Ramadan will end, but does the spirit of Ramadan still live in us? That is the question we must reflect on.
