BENGKALIS – ASWINNEWS.COM – The Bengkalis Regency Government through the Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports Office (Disparbudpora) has officially opened registration for the 2025 Colok Lamp Festival. This annual event that is always awaited will be held again to enliven the last nights of Ramadan while preserving Malay culture in Negeri Junjungan.

Participant registration is open from March 17 to March 23, 2025. The community, groups, or youth communities who want to participate can directly register through the organizing committee in the name of Desi at number 08126670238.

Head of the Bengkalis Regency Disparbudpora, Edi Sakura, said that the Colok Lamp Festival is not just a competition event, but also a symbol of togetherness and a means of strengthening ties between residents.

“Through this Colok Lamp Festival, we want to revive the spirit of mutual cooperation in the community and introduce local wisdom of Bengkalis to the younger generation,” said Edi Sakura, Thursday (03/13/2025).

Edi also invited all villages and sub-districts in Bengkalis Regency to participate, so that this year’s festival will be even more lively. “Community participation is very important. The more people who participate, the more lively and meaningful our event this year will be,” he added.

The Colok Lamp Festival has become an annual event that is awaited, not only by the people of Bengkalis, but also tourists from outside the region. Creativity and innovation in arranging the colok are the main attractions that enrich this tradition.
