BENGKALIS – ASWINNEWS.COM – Penebal Village residents enthusiastically welcomed the first harvest of the fisheries unit on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, which was managed by the Village-Owned Enterprise (Bumdes) Karya Bathin Bersama. The program fostered by the Penebal Village Fisheries UPT aims to support food security while improving the community’s economy
The harvest involving various types of fish, such as catfish and tilapia, received a positive response from the community who felt that this program was very useful. One resident, Mr. Amran (52), a local laborer, said that the existence of this fisheries unit was very helpful in meeting the needs of his family.
“In the past, if I wanted to eat fish, I had to go to the market which was quite far away. Now I can buy it directly in the village at a more affordable price. In addition, the quality of the fish is also fresher,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Rina (40), a trader, felt that this program had a positive impact on her business.
“It’s easier for me to get fresh fish to sell at the stall. The price is also more stable than in the market, so I can sell at a more competitive price,” he said.
In addition, this program also provides business opportunities for residents. Adi (30), a village youth, sees great potential in this fishery business.
“I am interested in learning fish farming because I see that the harvest is quite promising. Hopefully in the future there will be further training so that we can participate in this fishery business,” he said.
With the success of this first harvest, the community hopes that this program will continue and develop further. They also appreciate the cooperation between the village government, Bumdes, and UPT Perikanan which has provided real benefits for their lives.
