Cirebon – ASWINEWS.COM | July 27, 2025 — Pondok Pesantren Madinatunnajah, located in Cirebon City, once again held its annual Khutbatul Arsy event as part of the orientation for the new academic year.
The five-day event took place from Tuesday, July 22 to Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the Raudhatul Jannah Mosque and was attended by all new and returning students, teaching staff, and the pesantren leadership.
This year’s Khutbatul Arsy carried the theme “Panca Madinatunnajah Group”, focusing on introducing and instilling the five core pillars of character education that serve as the foundation of life and learning at Madinatunnajah.
These five pillars—Panca Jiwa, Panca Bina, Panca Dharma, Panca Disiplin, and Panca Jangka—form a comprehensive value system that shapes the daily behavior, personal growth, and long-term vision of every santri (Islamic boarding school student).

A Meaningful and Reflective Atmosphere
Each Khutbatul Arsy session was held with solemnity, enthusiasm, and deep reflection. On the first day, KH. M. Abdul Mujieb opened the program by highlighting Panca Jiwa as the spiritual foundation of the santri.
On the second day, Ust. Khomisan Agus Mughni encouraged the students to live not only as pious individuals but also as contributors to society, in line with Panca Dharma.
On the third day, Panca Bina focused on the integration of devotion, ethics, health, knowledge, and skills.
Ust. Johan on the fourth day emphasized the importance of Panca Disiplin, guiding students to develop discipline as a foundation for success in both worldly and spiritual affairs.
The closing session on Sunday, July 27, delivered by KH. Abdul Mujieb, centered on Panca Jangka, inviting all elements of the pesantren to unite in building Madinatunnajah as a center of education, leadership, and social service.
Shaping Santri Ready to Serve
Khutbatul Arsy 2025 served as a strategic momentum to strengthen the identity and direction of every santri at Madinatunnajah. Through these five pillars, the pesantren aspires to nurture a generation that is sincere, independent, well-mannered, knowledgeable, and ready to serve the ummah and the nation.
