NTB Hosts FORNAS VIII 2025, 82 National Sport-for-All Organizations to Join the Celebration

Mataram, Aswinnews.com – The province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has been officially appointed as the host of the 8th National Festival of Recreational Sports (FORNAS VIII) 2025, scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 1, 2025. This biennial event will be enlivened by 82 National Sport-for-All Organizations (Inorga) from across Indonesia, making it one of the country’s largest mass-based sport festivals.

FORNAS is a grand gathering of recreational sports enthusiasts under the umbrella of the Indonesia Committee of Recreational Sports (KORMI). The event features non-competitive sports rooted in culture, tradition, and healthy lifestyles.

One of the participating organizations is the Indonesian Kungfu Alliance, which will showcase traditional martial arts performances as part of the festival’s cultural stage. Other categories include aerobics, folk games, traditional sports, and various modern community-based activities.

NTB Governor Dr. Lalu Muhamad Iqbal expressed his pride in hosting FORNAS VIII, highlighting it as a golden opportunity to showcase the province’s cultural richness.

“NTB is ready to welcome thousands of guests from across the archipelago. We will provide a safe, warm, and culturally vibrant atmosphere,” said Governor Iqbal.

Beyond the participants, FORNAS VIII will also feature local MSME (micro, small, and medium enterprises) exhibitions, art performances, cultural parades, and regional tourism promotion. Local government agencies, the police, military, and community volunteers are all involved to ensure the success of this national event.

Notably, Aswin News is present on-site as an official media partner, providing real-time coverage to inform the public on the event’s developments, participant highlights, and the human stories behind the celebration.

Ida, a representative of Aswin News editorial team, emphasized the importance of media presence in events like FORNAS to amplify the spirit of collaboration and promote Indonesia’s diverse cultural and recreational movements.

“We are here to capture the spirit, struggles, and unity within FORNAS. This is not just about sports — it is a stage of national unity,” Ida stated.

FORNAS VIII is not a competition, but rather a celebration of culture and healthy living. With the slogan “Healthy, Fit, Joyful, and Extraordinary”, NTB is ready to be a memorable host for Indonesia.
