CIREBON CITY-ASWINNEWS-.COM-
In order to commemorate International Earth Day which falls on April 22, MI Madinatunnajah Cirebon City carried out the activity of planting matoa trees in the madrasah environment as a form of concern for the preservation of nature and the environment.
This activity is also part of the support for the environmental conservation program initiated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
The Head of MI Madinatunnajah Cirebon City, Drs. Rohiman, said that this activity was not just symbolic, but was the first step to instill values of love for the environment to all students, teachers, and madrasah residents. “Protecting the earth is part of worship. Through planting these trees, we want to teach students that protecting nature is a shared responsibility,” he said to the media aswinnews.com Tuesday, 04/22/2025,
Matoa trees were chosen because they have high durability and long-term benefits, both ecologically and economically. In addition, planting these trees is in line with the spirit of religious moderation, namely building collective awareness to love and protect God’s creation as a real manifestation of practicing religious teachings.
This activity involves the entire MI Madinatunnajah community and is part of a series of green and environmentally friendly madrasah movements that continue to be developed by madrasahs under the auspices of the Cirebon City Ministry of Religion.
