Purwakarta Police Narcotics Unit Arrests Two Karawang Youths While Carrying Crystal Meth.
PURWAKARTA-ASWINNEWE.COM — The Purwakarta Police Narcotics Unit (Satresnarkoba) arrested two youths in Cinangka Village, Bungursari District, Purwakarta Regency because they were caught carrying crystal meth.
The two people arrested were with the initials KA (29) and EK (39) who are registered as residents of Tirtamulya District, Karawang Regency. They are suspected of controlling, possessing, and storing crystal meth.
Purwakarta Police Chief, AKBP Lilik Ardhiansyah through Head of Narcotics Investigation Unit, AKP Yudi said that KA and EK were arrested while passing through Kampung Cinangka, Cinangka Village, Bungursari District, Purwakarta Regency, Monday, April 14, 2025.
Yudi said that the arrest of the two perpetrators began with information from the public. When arrested, the police found evidence in the form of crystal methamphetamine with a gross weight of 0.31 grams.
“We have secured two suspected perpetrators of methamphetamine abuse in the Cinangka Village area, Bungursari District, Purwakarta Regency. When a search was carried out, officers found narcotics stored in a small clear plastic clip,” said Yudi, on Wednesday, (04/16/2025).
He explained that KA and EK had been under surveillance for several days before they were finally arrested. The illegal goods controlled by KA and EK were allegedly purchased from someone with the initials R.
“The network is still being investigated. The two perpetrators obtained the illegal goods by purchasing them through a WhatsApp social media account with the initials R and are now on the Wanted List (DPO),” said Yudi.
The police have also conducted urine tests on KA and EK. Both tested positive for crystal methamphetamine.
“Based on the confessions of the alleged perpetrators, the illegal goods had been used several times,” he said.
Yudi added that KA and EK along with the evidence found have been secured at the Purwakarta Police Narcotics Unit office for further investigation and inquiry. Both are suspected of Article 127 paragraph (1) letter a of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
“For their actions, they are threatened with a prison sentence of at least 4 years and a maximum of 12 years with a fine of at least IDR 800 million and a maximum of IDR 8 billion,” said Yudi.
