BENGKALIS – ASWINNEWS.COM – Residents of Muntai Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, demonstrated a noble example in maintaining tolerance between religious communities. Led directly by the Head of Muntai Village, Muhammad Nurin, the village community worked together to escort the body of Ong A Khim, a non-Muslim resident, to his final resting place.
The event, which was full of emotion, was attended by residents from various religious backgrounds. Despite their different beliefs, they united to pay their last respects to Ong A Khim, the wife of Mr. Aceng, who during her life was known as a friendly figure who actively interacted with the surrounding community.
“We in Muntai Village always instill the values of tolerance and humanity. Religious differences are not an obstacle to helping each other, especially in moments like this. “Solidarity is our strength,” said Muhammad Nurin, on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
According to him, the harmony that exists in Muntai Village is the result of the tradition of mutual cooperation and mutual respect that has been maintained for years.
“This is proof that diversity is wealth, not a reason to be divided,” he added.
A resident, Rohani, also expressed her pride in the togetherness that exists in her village.
“Here, we do not look at religion. When someone is in need, we will definitely step in. This village is a home for everyone, regardless of their background,” she said.
This activity is a reminder of the importance of maintaining humanitarian values in a diverse society. The Village Head hopes that the spirit of tolerance shown today can continue to be instilled in the hearts of every resident, especially the younger generation, so that this harmony remains sustainable in the future.
