ASWIN Cup 1 Rembang Awards 5K Student Winners Receive Certificates and Medals

REMBANG, Aswinnews.com – The 2026 ASWIN Cup 1 5K Race Run, held by the Association of International Journalists (ASWIN) Rembang Regency Branch, served not only as a platform for student sports competitions but also as a way to recognize the winners who achieved success.

The event, which took place in Rembang on Saturday (May 23, 2026), was attended by approximately 490 participants from elementary, middle, and high school levels. Winners in various categories received certificates, medals, and prize money from the committee as a token of appreciation for their achievements in the competition.

The Chair of the ASWIN Cup 1 5K Race Run Committee, Bagas Pamenang Nugroho, stated that he hoped this award would motivate students to continue developing their talents in sports, particularly athletics.

“Besides being a competition, this event also serves as a form of appreciation for students who have demonstrated their best abilities,” he said.

One of the first-place winners for the female junior high school competition, Ajeng Syahwalani, a 9th-grade student at SMP Negeri 2 Pamotan, expressed pride in her achievement in the event. The female runner performed consistently and secured the top spot.

“I’m happy to win first place. This competition was exciting and challenging,” she said.

She stated that preparations for the competition took about two weeks and hopes a similar event can be held again next year.

Meanwhile, Sukesno, the Daily Chair of the Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI) of Rembang Regency, praised the event, which she believes has revitalized the spirit of athletics among students.

According to him, events like this are important as a means of discovering potential athletes who can elevate Rembang Regency to a higher level.

Support also came from the Rembang Regency Education, Youth, and Sports Office, through the Head of the Elementary School Facilities and Infrastructure Section, Subhan, who considered this activity a positive way of promoting a culture of sports in the educational environment.

The event proceeded lively, orderly, and smoothly, with the support of various parties, including the police, the Transportation Office, the Health Office (DKK), and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). Throughout the event, participants appeared enthusiastic right up to the finish line and were greeted with support from the community along the race route.
