Alleged Defamation Case Reopened, Complainant’s Legal Counsel Appreciates Bengkulu Regional Police

Bengkulu – AswinNews.com — An alleged defamation and slander case that had previously been terminated through a Warrant for Termination of Investigation (SP3) has now been reopened following a directive from the Kepolisian Daerah Bengkulu for a case review.

This was conveyed by the complainant’s legal counsel, Rizki Dini Hasanah.S.H after coordinating with the Kepolisian Daerah Bengkulu on Monday (May 11, 2026).

According to Dini, her party had previously submitted a request for reconsideration to the Bengkulu Police Chief regarding the case reported by Rani Sibarani.

The request was submitted so that the case, which had been halted through the SP3, could be reviewed and processed again in accordance with applicable legal provisions.

“Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful to the Bengkulu Police Chief for approving the reopening and reinvestigation of this case,” said Dini.

She stated that the decision to reopen the case has become a breath of fresh air for the complainant after the investigation process had previously been terminated. Dini also expressed appreciation to the Public Relations Division of Bengkulu Regional Police, which she considered instrumental in overseeing the reconsideration request process.

“We are quite pleased and grateful for the disposition from the Bengkulu Police Chief to reopen this case,” she added.

In addition, the legal team has coordinated with the Investigation Supervisory Division (Wasidik) to follow up on the Police Chief’s directive regarding the reopening of the case.

“Earlier, we met with the Wasidik team to oversee our letter that had been dispositioned by the Police Chief.

They will follow up on the letter, and at this stage, there is a possibility that a special internal case review will be conducted,” Dini explained.

The legal counsel emphasized that they would continue to follow all existing legal procedures and hoped that the legal process would proceed openly, professionally, and transparently.

“We will continue to follow the existing legal procedures and hope that the legal process will be reopened transparently,” she concluded.
