ASWINNEWS.COM – JAKARTA, September 24, 2025 – Indonesian cinema is about to be shaken by the release of Tumbal Darah, a new horror-thriller-action film directed by Charles Gozali. Produced by MAGMA Entertainment in collaboration with Wahana Kreator and Sinemaku Pictures, the film is slated to premiere nationwide on October 23, 2025.

The official poster and trailer were launched at Studio 2, Epicentrum XXI, Jakarta, on Wednesday (9/24). The two-minute trailer immediately drew attention with its chilling atmosphere and adrenaline-pumping sequences.

Previously, Tumbal Darah made waves at the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) 2024, where screenings were packed to full capacity and critics praised its intensity and bold genre execution.

A Haunting Tale Inside a Cursed Maternity House

The film follows Jeffri (played by Marthino Lio), a debt collector who will do anything to save his wife, Ella (Sallum Ratu Ke). His desperate quest, however, drags him into a cursed maternity house—where the cries of newborns are replaced by screams of terror, and blood becomes the ultimate price.

“Tumbal Darah is about a personal hell,” said director Charles Gozali. “It’s not just horror-action, but also a drama that questions how far love will drive someone to sacrifice in order to escape their own self-made hell.”

The official poster depicts Ella being violently pulled by demonic hands from behind a door, while Jeffri watches helplessly in horror—an unsettling image symbolizing a brutal and emotional struggle.

The Cast’s Relentless Commitment

Marthino Lio described his role as Jeffri as an extreme challenge. “I had to immerse myself in the nightmare of a cornered husband. Charles Gozali constantly pushes his actors to their limits, and that intensity is vividly captured on screen,” he shared.

Sallum Ratu Ke called the project a monumental experience. “Being part of a film with such scale and powerful storytelling is extraordinary. I can’t wait for audiences to feel it,” she said.

The film also stars Dony Alamsyah, Agla Artalidia, and Epy Kusnandar.
