JAKARTA, AswinNews.com — In a warm and cordial atmosphere, Purwakarta Deputy Regent Abang Ijo Hapidin paid a working visit to the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia on Friday (July 11, 2025). The meeting, held in the Vice Minister’s Meeting Room, Building A, Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto, Jakarta, was personally attended by Vice Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan.
Accompanied by the Head of the Purwakarta Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans), Dani Abdurrahman, the visit aimed to strengthen cooperation between the central and regional governments to promote better protection and welfare for Indonesian workers.
“This is a great honor. The Deputy Regent of Purwakarta is a remarkable figure with genuine dedication to his people. Hopefully, this synergy will serve as an example for other regions,” said Vice Minister Immanuel.
Shared Vision for Labor Justice and Public Welfare
Deputy Regent Abang Ijo expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and highlighted the importance of direct involvement from central government leaders in ensuring justice and welfare for workers across the regions.
“Mr. Vice Minister is truly inspirational. It’s rare to see a national leader so willing to fight for the people on the ground. That’s what encouraged me to come,” said Abang Ijo.
Both leaders agreed that worker welfare should be a shared moral and political commitment, not merely an administrative issue.
An Invitation and a Call for Concrete Action
During the meeting, Abang Ijo formally invited the Vice Minister to visit Purwakarta, to directly witness the local labor situation and help harmonize national labor programs with regional needs.
“We hope Mr. Vice Minister’s visit will boost the spirit of our workers and help align local recruitment systems and labor protections with national priorities,” he stated.
Responding to the invitation, Vice Minister Immanuel reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to act in the best interests of the people, emphasizing that action must follow words.
“Our commitment is real. The state must not only speak, but show up and work. This is not lip service—our job is to prove it through real action,” said Immanuel.
Stronger Synergy for a Just and Inclusive Indonesia
This meeting marked an important step in the ongoing effort to foster inclusive collaboration between central and local governments, particularly on urgent issues like employment, worker protection, and community welfare.
The session concluded with the shared slogan:
“Spirit of Indonesia, a Brighter Nation with Prabowo-Gibran”,
reflecting optimism and collective resolve for a more equitable future.
