PURWAKARTA — In the midst of the sluggish passion for local competition, football lovers communities from two private companies, PT Metro Pearl Indonesia and PT Qutty Karunia, rocked Purnawarman Stadium, Sunday (6/22/2025), by holding a Jersey Launching & Fun Football Match that attracted the enthusiasm of dozens of Purwakarta football legends.
The activity, entitled Fun Football Launching Jersey Legend 40+, was attended by five teams local:
 Metro Legend FC
 Harapan Muda FC
 Bunga FC
 Buciper FC
 KW FC
With a sweet surprise:
1st Place HARAPAN MUDA Jatiluhur
2nd Place KW FC PLERED
3rd Place BUNGA FC Jatiluhur.

“Not Just Football, This is an Invitation to Rise”
Behind the celebration of new jerseys and friendly duels on the field, this event voiced deep concerns: the declining achievements of Persipo Purwakarta, the pride of the community club that now seems to be dimming on the national football stage.
“We are a community of football lovers from the work environment of two companies. We want to revive the spirit of football in Purwakarta—from the field, not just from discourse,” asserted H. Namami, chairman of the organizing committee, when interviewed by AswinNews.com on the sidelines of the match.

“Persipo Needs New Breath”
A similar thing was conveyed by Amsori, the match coordinator, who criticized the stagnant condition of Purwakarta’s pride club.
“It is very unfortunate, Persipo’s achievements have actually declined. Maybe the problem is not just about the players, but also about management and support from the local government that lacks direction,” he said frankly.
Amsori also encouraged that events like this not stop at ceremonies. He hopes that a consistent network of training, scouting, and coaching of young talent will be born.
Building from the Community: Evidence of a Grassroots Movement

Different from formal football events that rely heavily on big sponsors, this community initiative was built from grassroots awareness: company workers, sports lovers, and former senior players who refused to remain silent.
“Legend 40+ is not just nostalgia. This is our way of maintaining our spirit, while giving an example to the younger generation that football is about struggle and loyalty,” added Hamami.
Hope for Purwakarta: From Purnawarman to the Future
The event closed with the symbolic handover of trophies to the champions and a friendly gathering between players, figures, and supporters. Laughter colored the atmosphere that showed: football is still alive in the hearts of the people of Purwakarta, even though Persipo is losing its way.
“We are not waiting for change from above. We are the ones who started it first. Because football belongs to everyone, not a handful of elites,” concluded Amsori.
 Editor’s Note:
AswinNews.com encourages the Purwakarta Regency Government, KONI, and Dispora to immediately sit down together with communities like this to revive the regional football ecosystem in a transparent and sustainable manner.
