Zionists in the Mirror of the Qur’an: Fond of War but Afraid to Fight

Aswinnews.com — Since the time of the prophets, the Qur’an has depicted the Children of Israel as a people inclined toward war, yet lacking the spirit of true valor. Historically, they are described as avoiding responsibility and reluctant to face risks head-on.

This portrayal appears to resonate with present-day realities, particularly in the context of the prolonged Israel–Palestine conflict. The Israeli military aggression in Gaza — regarded by many as genocide against the Palestinian people — continues to draw global condemnation. Recently, Israel has also provoked fresh tensions through its military escalation with Iran.

Allah Almighty says in the Qur’an:

“They will not fight you all together except in fortified cities or from behind walls. Their hostility toward each other is severe. You think they are united, but their hearts are divided. That is because they are a people who do not reason.” (Surah Al-Hashr: 14)

According to the official Tafsir (interpretation) by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, this verse describes the fearful mindset of certain Jewish tribes and hypocrites during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Even if the hypocrites had kept their promises and fought alongside the Banu Nadir against the Muslims, they would not have been able to face them due to the fear and dread that had already taken root in their hearts.

Many scholars find this verse relevant in understanding the current behavior of the Zionist regime, which tends to launch unilateral assaults but avoids the direct consequences of open warfare. Instead, it relies heavily on technological superiority and military backing from its allies.

Observers suggest this also reflects internal discord and a moral fracture within the Zionist leadership, which is reportedly experiencing strategic divisions within its own government.
