Youth Killed in Gang Clash in Pasar Rebo

Jakarta – Aswinnnews.com – A violent clash between two youth groups claimed the life of a 24-year-old man in East Jakarta. The incident occurred on Jalan Raya Kampung Tengah, Pasar Rebo, in the early hours of Monday (June 9, 2025).

The victim, identified by the initial W, was a resident of Gedong Subdistrict. He was allegedly killed after being slashed with a sharp weapon during the confrontation.

Pasar Rebo Police Chief AKP I Wayan Wijaya said the brawl stemmed from mutual insults and online provocations that escalated into an arranged fight.

“It began with mutual taunting and challenges through social media. The groups agreed to meet and fight. We are actively pursuing the suspects,” said AKP Wayan on Tuesday (June 10, 2025).

The clash reportedly began around 2:00 AM. The victim suffered fatal wounds and died at the scene. His body has been autopsied and laid to rest by his family.

The street brawl was captured on camera by local residents and has gone viral on social media. In the footage, two groups of teenagers can be seen attacking each other with sharp weapons and Molotov cocktails.

Police have secured several pieces of evidence from the scene. Authorities are still identifying those involved and seeking the main perpetrator responsible for the fatal attack.

“We urge all parents to keep a closer watch on their children’s activities, especially late at night,” AKP Wayan added.

The investigation is ongoing as officers continue questioning witnesses and analyzing video footage to bring all involved to justice.
