*Ahead of May Day, Jombang Police Chief Meets with Labor Unions*
Jombang – aswinnews.com- Ahead of the commemoration of International Labor Day or more familiarly known as May Day, the Jombang Police Chief met with the Labor Unions at the Graha Bhakti Bhayangkara Building, Jombang Police, Tuesday (04/22/2025).
This meeting aims to listen to the aspirations of the labor unions, so that the security and public order (Kamtibmas) situation in Jombang is conducive.
In the meeting, the Jombang Police Chief AKBP Ardi Kurniawan, S.H., S.I.K., CPHR was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Jombang Police, Commissioner Christian Bagus Yulianto, S.H,. S.I.K. M.Si and Main Officials.
Also present were the Head of the Jombang Manpower Office, Isawan Nanang Risdiyanto, S.Hut., M.Sc., Head of Industrial Relations and Work Requirements of the Jombang Regency Manpower Office, Dr. Rika Paur F. S.STP, and the Chairperson of the Jombang Regency Labor Union.
In his speech, the Jombang Police Chief expressed his appreciation for the event. According to him, this activity needs to be held to understand the existing issues so that they can be resolved so as to create a conducive situation.
“I hope that if there are activities carried out in order to commemorate May Day, the conduciveness will be truly maintained so that Jombang remains conducive.” Said AKBP Ardi.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Jombang Manpower Office expressed his gratitude for the cooperation in maintaining security in Jombang Regency so that he could carry out his duties well and maintain them.
“In the future, we will face a big agenda, namely May Dan, our plan is to carry out the activity on May 1 with the agenda of a joint healthy walk.” He said.
Meanwhile, the representative of the labor union, Subagio, who is also the Head of the DPC SPSI Jombang, conveyed his future agenda in the May Day commemoration to hold a fun walk.
“Related to our birthday which will be held on May 1, this commemoration has been held every year with positive activities. We will invite around 5,000 people to join the fun walk in the Jombang square.” He said.
The Chief of Police carefully listened to the aspirations and emphasized his commitment to maintaining security and providing protection to all workers during the May Day celebration.
“We will work hard to secure the May Day activities later, and maybe we can give prizes to the participants of the fun walk.” Said the Chief of Police.
In addition, the representative of the labor union Heru Sandi (Head of SPBJ GSBI Jombang) said that the May Day commemoration could be filled with various activities. In the commemoration, his party will fill it with a pilgrimage to Marsinah’s grave and theatrical action. However, he still allows his group to participate in the May Day activities in the Jombang square.
The meeting ended with a group photo as a form of agreement to continue collaborating in protecting the interests and welfare of workers in Jombang district.
