61st HBP, Bengkalis Prison Presents Concern and Receives Warm Welcome from the Community
BENGKALIS –ASWINNEWS.COM – Commemorating the 61st Correctional Service Day (HBP), Class IIA Bengkalis Prison not only celebrated internally, but also shared with the community through social service to the Dayang Dermah Orphanage, Monday (4/21/2025).
The Head of Bengkalis Prison, Kriston Napitupulu, led the handover of basic food assistance to the children of the orphanage. He said that this activity was part of Bengkalis Prison’s commitment to establishing harmonious and beneficial relationships with the surrounding community.
“The prison is part of society. Our role is not only limited to fostering inmates, but also to providing real benefits to the surrounding environment,” he said.
The visit was also a moment to share happiness. The children of the orphanage looked happy, while the prison officers also seemed to be immersed in the warm and family atmosphere.
The manager of the shelter, Ros, expressed his gratitude and thanks for the attention of Bengkalis Prison. According to him, the presence and assistance provided not only helped materially, but also provided encouragement and hope for the children in his care.
“We really appreciate what Bengkalis Prison has done. This shows another face of correctional institutions—full of concern and empathy for others,” he said.
Not only the shelter, the surrounding community also gave a positive response. This social action is considered a real step that strengthens the relationship between state institutions and the community.
This social service activity is part of a series of HBP commemorations which fall on April 27 every year. This moment is an opportunity for reflection and strengthening the values of humanity, service, and dedication of correctional officers throughout Indonesia.
