Meranti Regent Appreciates Tasik Putri Puyu Sub-district Head’s Quick Response to Overcome Collapsed Road
MERANTI – ASWINNEWS.COM – Meranti Islands Regent, AKBP (Ret.) H. Asmar expressed his high appreciation for the quick steps taken by Tasik Putri Puyu Sub-district Head, Zainal, SE in responding to public concerns regarding the collapse of the road to the Thousand Foot Bridge in Mengkirau Village.
The emergency response steps taken by the Sub-district Government together with residents and cart workers are considered a real form of government presence in the community. The connecting road had collapsed to a depth of about 30 centimeters on Sunday, April 13, 2025, and was immediately followed up the next day, Monday, April 14, 2025.
“We greatly appreciate the quick work and concern of the Sub-district Head and his staff who immediately went to the field with the community. This is a concrete example of the synergy between the government and residents in solving the problem,” said Regent Asmar in his statement, Tuesday (4/15/2025).
In the emergency effort, Sub-district Head Zainal and his team used coconut trunks and thick planks to support the road so that it could still be passed, even temporarily.
According to the Regent, this kind of swift action needs to be an example for other sub-districts in the Meranti Islands region in responding to problems in the field. He also emphasized the local government’s commitment to immediately coordinate with the province to plan long-term handling.
“God willing, we will continue to monitor and immediately seek assistance from related parties for permanent repairs. This road is an important access for the community, and must not be left damaged for too long,” said the Regent.
With this appreciation from the regional head, it is hoped that all levels of government in the Meranti Islands region will be increasingly motivated to work quickly, responsively, and closely with the community.
