Increasing Synergy Between Regions, Meranti Regent Visits Inhil Regent

INHIL – ASWINNESW.COM – Efforts to strengthen synergy between regions continue to be carried out by the Meranti Islands Regency Government. This time, the Regent of the Meranti Islands, AKBP (Ret.) H. Asmar paid a courtesy visit to the official residence of the Regent of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil), H. Herman, on Monday night (14/4/2025) in Tembilahan City.

The meeting, which was held in a friendly atmosphere, became a forum to strengthen personal relationships as well as discuss opportunities for strategic cooperation, especially in regional development.

Interestingly, the two regional leaders have a background of ties to their respective regions. Regent Asmar once served as a member of the National Police in the Inhil area, while Regent Herman previously served as an official in the Meranti Islands Regency Government.

“Welcome Regent Asmar and his entourage. I personally have memories of 13 years of service in the Meranti Islands. Hopefully this meeting will strengthen the relationship and collaboration between the two regions,” said Regent Herman.

On that occasion, Regent Herman also highlighted the similarities in economic potential between Inhil and Meranti, especially in the sago sector. He expressed his interest in studying sago processing so that it can be utilized more widely, including to support MSMEs.

“We want to learn from the Meranti Islands in terms of sago processing innovation. This has great potential for improving the community’s economy,” he explained.

Responding to this, Regent Asmar welcomed the planned collaboration. He also expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome from the Regent of Inhil and his staff.

“We invite the Regent of Inhil to visit the Meranti Islands again. Of course, we are very open to sharing knowledge, especially about the development of sago which has become a characteristic of our region,” said Asmar.

He hopes that the meeting will be the beginning of a real collaboration that can have a positive impact on the people in both districts.

The event was then continued with a dinner together, exchange of souvenirs, and a photo session together that was full of intimacy.
