Three Cubic Meters Compensation from Perumdam Tirta Darma Ayu for Customers in Four Districts
INDRAMAYU-ASWINNEWS.COM- Perumdam Tirta Darma Ayu apologized for the company’s less than optimal service to customers.
As compensation, customers are given 3 cubic meters of water for free which will not be included in the bill calculation.
This was conveyed by the Regent of Indramayu, Lucky Hakim, when holding a press conference at the Indramayu Regency Pendopo regarding the current developments at Perumdam Tirta Darma Ayu, Monday, April 14, 2025.
Lucky Hakim explained that customers of Perumdam Tirta Darma Ayu in the eastern region, including Juntinyuat, Karangampel, Krangkeng, and Kedokan Bunder Districts (the service area of the Kedokan Bunder branch) in the past few days have experienced cloudy water entering customers’ homes. This is due to the process of flashing (cleaning) pipes and the trial of increasing water pressure and discharge from the Kuningan area.
With such conditions, the mud and dirt in the pipe sediment are carried to customers due to the enormous pressure.
“Due to this problem, we will provide 3 cubic meters of dirty water that enters customers’ homes for free. So 3 cubic meters per house will not be counted. This is our compensation to around 24 thousand customers in the four sub-districts,” said Lucky Hakim accompanied by Acting President Director of Perumdam Jojo Sutarjo.
Meanwhile, Acting President Director of Perumdam Jojo Sutarjo said that the problem of customers in the western Indramayu area was caused by a project being carried out by BBWS in the Salam Darma channel, resulting in the closure of the water source that would enter the channel owned by Perumdam Tirta Darma Ayu.
According to Jojo, the incident was considered a ‘force majeure’ because it was beyond the control of all parties. His party asked the project implementation in the Salam Darma channel to immediately accelerate the implementation of the project so that the community and Perumdam Tirta Darma Ayu would not be harmed.
“As a result of this repair project, the affected branches are the Patrol and Kandanghaur branches. There is no water source because the project closed it,” said Jojo.
However, Jojo continued, to serve customers in the western region, various efforts have been made, including pumping to be able to supply water sources into the intake pipe of Perumdam Tirta Darma Ayu.
“This effort is only able to serve 1/3 of Perumdam Patrol branch customers. But we will continue to make various efforts. We apologize profusely to the people of Indramayu,” said Jojo.
