KAGAMA Supports Action to Reveal Jokowi’s Diploma Case on April 15, 2025
Jakarta-aswinnews.com — The Universitas Gadjah Mada Alumni Family KAGAMA has begun to speak out in support of an open action demanding clarity regarding the authenticity of President Joko Widodo’s diploma.
The action is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, coinciding with the halal bihalal moment of the UGM academic community.
One of the strong supports came from the Chairperson of KAGAMA Cirebon Raya, Heru, who stated that this movement is a moral call for alumni to maintain the dignity of the institution.
“This issue has been left hanging for too long. If the certificate is truly authentic, there should be no reason to cover it up. Transparency will actually stop slander and speculation,” said Heru after attending the alumni meeting, Friday, April 11, 2025.
Heru, an alumnus of UGM International Relations class of 1996, emphasized that Kagama Cirebon Raya encourages UGM to become a space for open and honest dialogue.
He said that he had offered the concept of “eternal peace” to UGM and President Jokowi, but until now has not received a significant response.
I came to Yogyakarta not only as an alumni, but as a representative of Kagama who brings the hope that UGM will become a pioneer of transparency and reconciliation. This is not just about politics, but maintaining the good name of the alma mater,” he said.
Heru also mentioned the figure of Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, a former UGM lecturer, as a figure with integrity and worthy of being a partner in the struggle to push for academic clarity.
According to Heru, the April 15 action should be seen as a moment of reflection, not as a threat to the institution.
“This campus is built on scientific and moral values. It’s time for us, the alumni, not to remain silent when UGM’s great name is at stake due to secrecy and prolonged controversy,” he said.
This action was initiated by a number of national figures including Rismon and former Minister of Youth and Sports Roy Suryo, and supported by alumni networks from various regions. ***
