One of the famous craftsmen in Jombang, Fachrur Rohman from Bawangan Village, Ploso District, has contributed greatly to the preservation of keris sheath or warangka crafts.
In his statement to Journalist aswinnews.com Jombang, Saturday evening, March 29, 2025, Fachrur Rohman shared his experience.
“I use rare wood such as stigi, gaharu, sandalwood, and nagasari in the production process,” he said.
With more than eight years of experience, Fachrur Rohman has become an important figure in maintaining the existence of this traditional craft in Jombang.
In addition, this community is also active in holding exhibitions and cultural discussions to increase public understanding of the values contained in each keris blade. They also collaborate with academics and cultural figures in research and publications related to keris in Jombang.
With the existence of this community, Jombang continues to demonstrate its commitment to maintaining and caring for the cultural heritage of its ancestors.
