Polres Kepulauan Meranti Opens Free Vehicle Storage Service for Eid al-Fitr 1446 H Homecoming Travelers
MERANTI –ASWINNEWS.COM – Welcoming the flow of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah homecoming, Polres Kepulauan Meranti provides free motor vehicle storage services for people who will leave their homes to return to their hometowns. This service aims to provide a sense of security and comfort to residents who are worried about leaving their vehicles while homecoming.
This vehicle storage service was officially announced in a socialization activity led directly by the Chief of Police of Kepulauan Meranti, AKBP Kurnia Setyawan, SH, SIK, on Monday (24/03/2025). Also present at the event were Deputy Chief of Police Commissioner Maitertika, SH, MH, Head of Operations Division Commissioner Syahrizal, SE, MH, MSi, Head of Ren Division Commissioner Novia Indra, SH, Head of Traffic Unit AKP Fajri Sentosa, SH, MH, Head of Public Relations Division AKP Raden Surtika, Head of Water Police Unit Iptu Abdul Roni, SH, and Head of Piaman Regional Family Association (PKDP) of Meranti Regency, Bagindo Nasir.
“We are opening a free two-wheeled and four-wheeled motor vehicle storage service at the Meranti Police Headquarters and at the Polsek-Polsek ranks. This is a form of our service to provide a sense of security to the public who are going home for Eid,” said AKBP Kurnia Setyawan.
With this service, the public does not need to worry about the security of their private vehicles that are left behind. The Chief of Police emphasized that security will be carried out strictly for 24 hours, ensuring that the vehicle remains safe until the owner returns from the homecoming trip.

This storage service has been open since the beginning of Ramadan and will last until the return flow is complete. Residents who want to store their vehicles only need to bring vehicle documents such as STNK and KTP for the data collection process.
The Police Chief also appealed to the public who want to go home to continue to pay attention to the security of their respective homes. He suggested that abandoned houses during homecoming be reported to the RT/RW Head or the local Kepling.
“We hope that the community can take advantage of this vehicle storage service to be calmer during homecoming. Also make sure the house is safe and leave it with a neighbor or local environmental officer,” added AKBP Kurnia.
The Head of the Meranti Regency PKDP, Bagindo Nasir, who was also present at the socialization, appreciated the steps of the Meranti Police. He said that this service is very helpful for the community, especially those who are going home to other regions or islands.
“This is very useful. Residents can go home calmly without fear of losing their motorbikes or cars,” said Bagindo.
With the free vehicle storage service from the Meranti Islands Police, it is hoped that this year’s homecoming flow will run safely, comfortably, and smoothly for the entire community.
