Libas Team Meranti Islands Distributes 50 Food Packages to Residents in the Month of Ramadan
MERANTI – ASWINNEWS.COM – The holy month of Ramadan is a momentum for the Community Organization (Ormas) Light Independent Bersatu (Team Libas) of Meranti Islands Regency to share happiness with the underprivileged. Through a social service program, the DPD Team Libas Meranti distributed 50 food packages to residents in need, Friday (3/21/2025).
This humanitarian activity is a form of Team Libas’ concern in helping people who are experiencing economic difficulties, especially ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah. The food packages distributed contain basic necessities such as rice, eggs, sugar, and cooking oil. This assistance is expected to ease the burden on residents in meeting their daily needs during the month of Ramadan.
The Head of the DPD Team Libas Kepulauan Meranti, T. L. Sahanry, S.Pd., CFLE., CLA., CPLA., together with the Head of Social Affairs, Sudarno alias Along, went directly to the field to lead the distribution of the aid. They ensured that the aid was received directly by the people who really needed it.
“This is a form of our social responsibility as a mass organization that cares about the condition of the community in the midst of a difficult economic situation, especially in this holy month of Ramadan. Hopefully this aid will be useful and become an encouragement for our brothers and sisters,” said T. L. Sahanry.
In line with that, Sudarno alias Along said that this social activity also aims to strengthen friendship and the spirit of mutual cooperation in the community. “We want to foster a sense of caring and helping each other. Hopefully, this will be the first step for the next broader social programs,” he said.
The social action of the Meranti Libas Team received full support from the elected Regent of the Meranti Islands for the 2024–2030 period, AKBP (Ret.) H. Asmar, who also serves as the Advisory Board of the DPD Team Libas. He appreciated the initiative of the Team Libas and hoped that activities like this would continue to ease the burden on the underprivileged.
“This activity is very positive. The local government will continue to support social programs such as those carried out by the Libas Team. Hopefully more and more parties will be moved to help others,” said H. Asmar.
One of the recipients of assistance, Rokiya (65 years old), a resident of Kampung Baru, expressed her gratitude for the assistance she received. “Alhamdulillah, we are very helped. Hopefully the Libas Team and all those involved in this activity will always be given health and blessed sustenance,” said Rokiya with emotion.
In the future, the Meranti Islands Libas Team is committed to making this social service program a routine agenda, by expanding the scope of beneficiaries. They are also open to collaborating with various elements of society, government, and the private sector, in order to strengthen humanitarian programs in the region.
