Audience Between Cimarias Village Residents and PT Subur Setiadi Has Not Resolved Dispute

SUMEDANG-ASWINNEWS.COM- The aswinnews.com media crew and several media crews experienced an incident while covering an audience between representatives of Cimarias and Cinanggerang Village residents and PT Subur Setiadi, in the Plenary Room of the Sumedang Regency DPRD Building, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at around 13:00 WIB.

This audience discussed the rejection of the extension of the Building Use Rights (HGB) which had expired on December 31, 2023.

The media crew then waited until the audience was over and tried to ask Mr. Encang for further information. While waiting, the Head of an NGO, Mr. K, approached the media crew and was told that they had been evicted by security officers. Shortly thereafter, several other media crews came and asked similar questions.

After information about the ban circulated, the media crew headed to the DPRD Building yard and chatted with other fellow journalists. One of the journalists stated, “Naon abdimah teu di carek bieu kaluhur bisa,” which surprised the media crew because they were the only ones who were prohibited from entering.

After a tense standoff with the security officers, finally Mr. Encang, who was referred to as the companion of Commission I, was called. Even so, the dissatisfaction of the media crew continued until they were facilitated to speak with Asep Kurnia, Secretary of the Sumedang Regency DPRD.

Asep explained that the decision to close the meeting was the authority of the meeting leader, who was afraid of misperceptions in the news that could trigger a dispute.

Asep also said that this audience had not resolved the dispute between the two parties, and a follow-up meeting would be held.

“We invite media colleagues to come back to cover this event on Thursday, March 20, 2025, around 08.00 WIB – 09.00 WIB,” he invited.

Until this news was published, the media crew had not succeeded in contacting PT Subur Setiadi to provide clarification regarding this incident.
