Karobelah Village Head Makes Mischief, Disappoints Residents Because He Is Not Transparent

JOMBANG-ASWINNEWS.COM- S, who has just been appointed as Village Head through the Karobelah Village KDAW, has made trouble, and ignored the village deliberation even though he is a former sub-district head, he should understand the policy procedures and the Regent’s Regulation. He is now in the spotlight of his residents after allegedly abusing his authority, by selling the results of village assets in the form of teak and mauni wood, without going through the Village Deliberation (MusDes).

This allegation arose after residents complained about the lack of transparency in the management of village assets.

When met by Journalist aswinmews.com, Wednesday, March 19, 2025 for clarification, S, claimed that the MusDes had been held, and the proceeds from the sale of village assets were used for Public Street Lighting (PJU) according to the agreement.

However, this statement contradicts the statement of the Village Treasurer, Ahmad Affandi, who stated that there had never been a MusDes regarding the sale of the assets. The Village Treasurer also added that if the Village Deliberation had indeed been implemented, there should have been a report as administrative evidence.

After a meeting between the Village Head and the Village Treasurer, S finally admitted that what was done was not a Village Deliberation, but only coordination with the Head of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) to decide on the sale of village assets without a Village Deliberation mechanism.

Allegations of Non-Transparent Practices

One of the residents with the initials FH expressed his disappointment with the village government which was considered non-transparent in managing village assets. FH also admitted that he was often ostracized when trying to reveal problems that occurred in the village.

Allegations of teak and mauni wood sales transactions became stronger after SL, the party who bought the wood, confirmed that he had paid in full Rp11 million in February 2025. SL also showed proof of payment receipts. In addition, SL stated that Rp1 million of the total payment was taken by two people with the initials STN and STM on the orders of the Karobelah Village Head as additional costs. The 60 pieces of wood that had been purchased and cut were also part of the previous agreement.

Previous Cases and Residents’ Disappointment

– This case adds to the long list of complaints from residents regarding the governance of Karobelah Village. Previously, residents also reported alleged misuse of funds in the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program by the PTSL implementing committee. The report has been submitted to the Corruption Crime Team (Tipikor) of the Jombang Police, but until now there has been no clear follow-up.

The minimal response from the authorities to the various reports submitted has made the community increasingly lose trust in the local government and law enforcement officers. Residents believe that there are certain individuals who deliberately obstruct the legal process so that various alleged violations seem to be left unresolved.

The Karobelah Village community hopes that these cases of alleged abuse of authority will immediately receive serious attention from the authorities. Transparency and accountability in village management are the main demands so that community trust can be restored.
